Il Giro Strano: La divina commedia (1973, pubb. 1992)

il giro strano la divina commedia The sextet of Giro Strano is another of those formations such as the Aeneid , the system and Good Old Charlie never managed to publish an LP during their activities.

The group formed in Savona in the summer of 1971 on the ashes of Tramps and Voodoo , two rather well-known bands in the area, and start to get noticed in several pop festivals and important including that of Villa Pamphili and Pop Meeting in Genoa.

At some point comes the contract proposal, but as in the case of Tramps, also Giro Strano being asked to move to Rome for sessions d’incisione.

il giro strano savona Admittedly, it should really be lovers of Italian pop to go into this long time in listening to music, however, merely a ' historiographical perspective and setting aside the obvious slander techniques, we must admit that if only this band could have an impact professionally and perhaps with the help of an arranger , probably not at all disfigured would have far more noble than colleagues.

To find out, however, must be at least bypass first two tracks ("The 13th transistor and "The corridor black, etched and treated the better) that aside from the sax colorings that give them a degree of originality, present a scenario essentially tonal formal : rhythmic hard-prog, high-pitched voice and that intercalates ipermodulata deadlifts (not exactly unknown here) , dynamic breaks, bridges atonal, changes of time the drum solo, the baroquisms, keyboards ian emerson and so on.

Only after the third track and unfortunately parallel to the end of the sound, a fact emerges ' unpublished compositional vitality (eg central and final parts of "Old Oldsea ") coupled with a changing deconstruction capacity that allows the sextet also baste lightly micro suites nice and crisp like the title track commendable .

alessio feltri il giro strano Though penalized by a very modest acoustic spectrum, the technical capabilities the Giro Strano seem indisputable, and always by the third song, it emerges even the most exquisitely using creative solutions they would do to my throat even Ballet Bronze or Reverse of the Medal .
clear: nothing particularly original always seen the good things that circulated in Italy between '72 and '73, but all potentially offering a potential for publication and we would certainly knew well the six children of the "Giro " but, intimidated by the necessary travel Roman had to take note of their limitations. Too bad.

Moreover, the road to fame is also made and especially cross situations.
of artists who have had to abdicate for reasons far removed only to music is full the history of rock.
